“A Seat at the Table” - 7/24/2026

The Tappahannock Artists Guild is proud to present “A Seat at the Table”, an extraordinary exhibition opening July 24 featuring the powerful work of artists Zsudayka Nzinga and James Stephen Terrell.

The series of artwork titled “A Seat at the Table“ is a collaboration of art created in conversation both separately and together by the husband-and-wife team James Stephen Terrell and Zsudayka Nzinga. The work explores lived experiences and shared moments. The artwork centers on the devotion of family, friends, and a love of food and music. You are invited to come sit at the table and experience a renewal of life and a restoration of hope.

Zsudayka Nzinga’s research-based work explores American history and the enduring impact of textile labor. Her paintings and installations have been exhibited in museums and institutions across the country and internationally, challenging viewers to consider the stories woven into our shared past.

James Stephen Terrell’s deeply contemplative paintings examine the physical and spiritual dimensions of human existence. Through intricate lines, layered surfaces, and powerful visual language, his work explores joy, pain, faith, memory, and the threads that bind humanity together.

Join us on July 24 as TAG opens its doors to this remarkable exhibition that promises to inspire meaningful dialogue and celebrate the shared experiences that connect us all.
