Weekly Guided Open Studio Sessions at TAG
TAG Guild Artist Barbara Woodward leads weekly open studio sessions at TAG.
Join other artists to create together but work separately on independent projects, with guidance from the instructor. Each session ends with sharing your work in progress with encouraging critiques offered by your peers and the instructor.
These classes are designed for students who value regular instruction, accountability, and steady creative momentum.
Class Details
Mediums: Students will work in their choice of medium, including:
Paint
Watercolor
Pastels
Pen and Ink
Pencil
Projects: Students will focus on independent projects with guidance and individual critiques from the instructor.
Schedule
When: Wednesdays from 10 AM to 12:30 PM
Price
Individual drop-in sessions are $25 ($22.50 for TAG members). Multi-session packages are available at a discount.
About the Instructor
Barbara Lee Woodward was born and raised in Bowling Green, VA. Coming from a long line of artists, art has been the center of her life. Through education at VCU, VMFA, the Art Institute and many private teachers, her skills continue to evolve.
Her experience in various creative processes includes private art instruction in painting and drawing; commercial holiday design involving purchasing, manufacturing and installation for clients like Union Station, the Federal Reserve and the Willard Hotel in Washington DC; scenic painting at Kings Dominion, Doswell, Virginia and various locations in Denver, Colorado.
Barbara is also a Master Gardener and frequently enjoys working in the soil.
The ongoing drawing process is itself a work of art.
